A Major Problem with most Electronic
Health Records -
How do you use them out of the office?
You will hear answers from other companies
like; "well, you just simply
get a wireless Internet connection",
or "when you are at the hospital,
you can connect to the hospital's
Wireless Network and then connect
back to your office server".
That might would work if ALL
hospitals offered wireless Internet
and they would provide it throughout
the entire hospital or you could get
Wireless Internet that was as fast
as Wired Internet that had good connectivity
everywhere. But the reality of the
matter is that if the EHR you
are looking at only relies on those
methods, then you are in trouble.
They are simply NOT a good enough
answer for EHR use out of the office.
The Number One Complaint from Physicians
after they have purchased an EHR is
the time it takes to Chart a Patient.
When a physician realizes that their
EHR does not save them time but rather
increases the amount of time, many stop
using it!
